The Tai Seng DVD of Il Mare is actually the "authorized" version for sale in the United States. As far as the Mission goes, I've already tried that.
Your Mission copy is a lost cause. I've seen over 1000 DVDs as of date and I haven't come across a disc that's completely unreadable.
