Joey Yung should stop playing the same role in every movie.... One great scene is when Eason is holding a message in a bottle commenting the director main theme the future is for the brave. This is one of them small time flicks that will probably go by unnoticed but I suggest everyone shold check it out. Not much happen to the plot, there is no main struggle, in fact the first 40 mins or so of the film seems to go no where. BUT IT WAS ALL ENTERTAINING still. I credit that to great character development. Francis Ng, although given very little information on why he went crazy, is likable and funny. Eason is great as the slacker cop, even Joey Yung is not bad. This film doesn't have one major story, instead it's a bunch of little subplots, including weird ones like 17 year old high school girls having a crush on Eason, Joey having a crush on another cop, Francis Ng walking around the city acting insane. Even with the lack of a major story/struggle, this film entertains.

Really enjoyed this film; it never seemed to slow down or drag too much. SPOILER / Question I don't normally get into analyzing films, but I got the feeling that Francis Ng's character was supposed to represent HK people, or HK. Did anyone else get that impression?

I think it was very clear why Sing became mad. And Francis turns yet another fine performance -without over acting too!- but to me the real star of the film is Eason. He is simply amazing (ok I liked him as an actor the first time I have seen him in Funeral March - can you believe I did not even know who Twins were then?). Joey does not bother me and I'm not to keen on her either, she certainly did not ruin the film for me. I loved the way the City is shown and also I simply loved the ending too.

This movie focus on Wen Chai (something like that) while the other one focus on Mangkok. I also liked this movie

Although I would still recommend this film to my friends. But Why they cast Joey Yung is beyond me. The girl just cannot act and although she claims to be a singer, she cannot even give a decent line reading. Her performance was just too rigid and not at all natural, and her character although likeable was stereotypical. And i really did not enjoy the tone of the film. It enters some rather sad and dark themes and although the ending leaves behind some semblence of hope, it does not really justify such darkness. Lost in Time had some serious and sad thematic elements and I thought it had a great conclusion. So that maybe be why I found this film's conclusion less than satisfying, I was comparing it to a fantastic Derek Yee film.

The movie is rich with details -- many can be overlooked on the first viewing. One of my new all-time favorites.

As usual Francis Ng is excellent and turns in another stand-out performance, additionally picking up the 'most unacceptable haircut in HK cinema' award. Eason is solid as well and again plays the self-centred character who learns the importance of frienship and love, a role we've seen him perform in movies like 'If U Care' and 'Feel 100%'. Joey Yung seems to take a bit of stick from film fans but shes fine in this. Ive only previously seen her in one other film (Feel 100%) and to be honest she didnt do much other than look nice. She might not have a lot of natual acting talent but in certain roles I think she can be ok, shes got a nice charm about her without being annoying. Itd be nice if HK cinema produced more films like this as its the type of thing they do well. Good film and recommended http://www.myspace.com/ross1277
