i was watching "strike at heart" last night when a thought suddenly came to me. actually, more of of a question. i was talking to a fren earlier who speaks fluent cantonese and some madarin and i mentioned that i was watching a wuxia movie. and she turns around and goes to me "hurh"?
so the question here is, is wuxia an actual chinese word or is it just a term coined by obssessed fanatics? i mean in viet, we refer to those period/costume series as "kim hiep" which literally translates to "sword hero", but if you are viet but not a watcher and that term is used, then most likely they still dont know what the hell you are talking about.
so is this the same case as for the term wuxia?
