<<This is Tony's worst performance I have seen. He has been in some bad films but always held his own. I was embarressed by his acting in Hero>>

methinks you are right!! .... i wasn't too crazy about his listlessness in Tokyo Raiders but at least he looked natural.. i wasn't too crazy about his overacting in Infernal Affairs but the character and the dialogue were less absurd

<<But I don't agree on Maggie Cheung, Taohua. She was great, her scream while holding Tony was the only thing that made me cry (and I cry in almost every film)>>

that was such a rip-off of Brigitte Lin's scream in Ashes of Time :rollin - not sure who came up with the idea Maggie or the director... i thought it was one of the clumsiest moments in the entire movie

(on the whole - i wish people would stop comparing Hero to CTHD... it owes infinitely more to Wong Kar Wai's film)

this entire scene makes no sense whatsoever because it is in direct contradiction with the preceding attempts at giving character development a modicum of consistency

first we find out that Broken Sword and Flying Snow's martial arts skills are so advanced "they would never allow emotions to be a liability"

then all of a sudden not only does he insist on a fight which would not change a thing in any case but is unable to control herself when he simply fails to parry the strike as if she were a beginner ?

whatever happened to being "one with the sword" let alone "having the sword in one's heart"???
