woah you're interested in the softhard pair directed films too eh?

i really admire jan lam and i don't mean that in an idol worshipping way; he is the embodiment of an all around great multi-media artist.

acting, directing (maybe less so), stand up, radio, general creative work and music.

in each of those categories so to speak he might not be the most natural performer but he possesses such great wit, judgement and intelligence he carries it off very well.

as for eric kot, ignoring his first period of trash films (usually involving wong jing or of the same calibre) he has picked his roles pretty well. you only have to listen to the 'you shoot i shoot' audio commentary he did with cheung tat ming, to hear the witty (cantonese) humour and er just general intelligence.

ok this is turning out like a idol worship babble but i based my judgements from a lot of things..
