Discussing a film's flaws, or even openly debating whether it merits a rental or purchase, doesn't need to be confrontational, and almost never gets personal on this forum. Maybe our inclination to take offense to a slight against our favorite director is overwhelmed by our relief at finding a place where film discussion doesn't consist of whether the black leather costumes in the new Superman/Batman/X-Men sequel are "bullshit." :b

I've found the negative reviews on this site to be immensely helpful in prioritizing my purchases over the almost two years now that have elapsed since I stumbled upon it while looking for pics of Shu Qi to hotlink to. (kidding)

There are a couple less-than-enthusiastic reviews of "uneven" movies that I like in that archive, but I understand Kozo's reasoning and I'm always interested in hearing other people's impressions.
