Sanjuro -- Glad I wasn't the only one who found the full redubbing of Jackie Chan's films annoying.

---

I actually have a thread going about Letterboxing in the Non Asian Film Discussion area.

I was unaware that the "Full Screen" version of Time and Tide was Super 35 with the masks removed. I would need to see the widescreen version to believe it though.
Just looked at it again...The film still feels cramped on the sides to me. In other words it FEELS like a Pan and Scan job. Too many scenes appear to be missing edge imagry, with some scenes having offscreen speakers when it feels that they should be onscreen to one side.
The movie warns beforehand, and states on the case that: "This film has been modified from its original version. It has been formated to fit your screen." --- A nearly sure sign of P&S. (Though dropping the masks would also make a huge a difference, so that could mean nothing.)

I'll just have to take your word for it until I get ahold of the DVD and see it with my own eyes. :-)
