Ageless Chinese Serpent
Well, it's fortunate that you have discovered LHKF and all these hot topics of the moment are popping up. Didn't catch ZX's latest at the AA film festival but your enthusiastic endorsement prompts me to check it out in the future. When her picture showed up on the cover of the SF Chronicle pink section I still recognized her even though she was drastically dressed down for her role as a cabbie. Interesting that cabbies are regular protagonists in so many dramatic or comedic works. Two well-known Western cabbie characterizations were Travis Bickle in Taxi Driver and Maria Villa-Lobos in Pulp Fiction (the Bruce Willis segment). Two Asian film cabbie characterizations also come to mind. Chan is Missing and Sausalito, the latter with Maggie Cheung as a taxi driver in one of the crappiest movies in the mature phase of her career. I digress... Back to ZX, allow me to recommend Suzhou Creek and Perhaps Love. She won a Best Actress Award for the last named one.
